Simplest AB-Thermonuclear Space Propulsion and Power Source*
نویسنده
چکیده
The author applies, develops and researches mini-sized MicroAB Thermonuclear Reactors for space propulsion and space power systems. These small engines directly convert the high speed charged particles produced in the thermonuclear reactor into vehicle thrust or vehicle electricity with maximum efficiency. The simplest AB-thermonuclear propulsion offered allows spaceships to reach speeds of 20,000 50,000 km/s (1/6 of light speed) for fuel ratio 0.1 and produces a huge amount of useful electric energy. Offered propulsion system permits flight to any planet of our Solar system in short time and to the nearest non-Sun stars by E-being or intellectual robots during a single human life period.

Thermonuclear Operation Space Lift
The “Project Orion” small fission bomb propulsion concept proposed the one-stage launching of large payloads into low earth orbit, but it was abandoned because of the radioactive fallout into the earth atmosphere. The idea is here revived by the replacement of the small fission bombs with pure deuterium-tritium fusion bombs, and the pusher plate of the Project Orion with a large magnetic mirror...
متن کاملAlternative Space Vehicle Launch Systems
Over the last century chemical propellants have been the dominant fuel source for the aviation and aerospace industry, primarily because they are able to provide ample power for a limited cost. However, over the last decade as the price of chemical propellant continues to soar and their detrimental effect on our environment comes to light, there has been a surge to develop an alternative propul...
متن کاملLasers in space.
A variety of laser applications in space, past, present, future and far future are reviewed together with the contributions of some of the scientists and engineers involved, especially those that happen to have South African connections. Historically, two of the earliest laser applications in space, were atmospheric LIDAR and lunar ranging. These applications involved atmospheric physicists, se...
متن کاملOn Thermonuclear Micro-Bomb Propulsion for Fast Interplanetary Missions
To reduce the radiation hazard for manned missions to Mars and beyond, a high specific impulse-high thrust system is needed, with a nuclear bomb propulsion system the preferred candidate. The propulsion with small fission bombs is excluded because the critical mass requirement leads to extravagant small fission burn up rates. This leaves open the propulsion with non-fission ignited thermonuclea...
متن کاملCycle Trades for Nuclear Thermal Rocket Propulsion Systems
Nuclear fission has been used as a reliable source for utility power in the United States for decades. Even in the 1940’s, long before the United States had a viable space program, the theoretical benefits of nuclear power as applied to space travel were being explored [Humble, et. al.]. These benefits include long-life operation and high performance, particularly in the form of vehicle power d...
